Visual Expressions

This is day two of Armchair BEA 2015 and I am STILL SO EXCITED. Man, I had better get myself to BEA Chicago next year or I just may never go...

Today blogs around the world are talking about visual expressions, different ways to tell a story. Perhaps it is through paintings, webcomics or graphic novels. I, however, am deviating from the book theme to highlight a few music videos that have been on my mind lately.

These three music videos all tell such a story to me. One has been controversial because of it's use of a 12 year old girl and a 30 (?) year old man. But please, look beyond the judgemental surface and see what the dance is really about. These two artists were nothing more than a fantastic choice to portray two warring sides of the same person. I had better share this video first than!

Than yes, another is by the same artist, but the skill of this dancer, the story she tells through the movement of her body, is ...flawless. 4 Grammy noms? Yuppers.

This dance vid of 'Take Me to Church' by Hozier featuring the Bad Boy of Ballet.

People. Dance can tell stories like nothing else. Beauty.

  1. I am a big fan of dance music videos. It is a beautiful form of visual expression. You have really thought out of the box here. I wouldn't have thought to post about artistic videos like this, but hell ya!
